   Communication today is as simple as a push of a button. Getting to this point was no easy task. For much of human history, communication was only as fast as a message or letter could be delivered. Technology would improve this system by leaps and bounds, however a price would be paid for each advancement, sometimes with human lives.

By 1962, Curtis-Wright's grand ambitions for their Quehanna research facility had collapsed into a smoldering disappointment. As the company prepared to vacate the area, they sublet a portion of their leased property along the main highway near the intersection with Wykoff Run Road.
